The Flight 93 National Memorial is a special place set aside to remember the 40 innocent people who died here during the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

On the morning of September 11, 2001, hijackers commandeered United Flight 93 and turned it towards Washington D.C. At 10:03 A.M., the plane crashed upside down in this field, killing all 44 people on board.

Congress designated the crash site a National Memorial in 2002.
