Victoria Falls is one of the largest and most impressive waterfalls in the world. Called Mosi-oa-Tunya in the local language, which means the smoke that thunders, it is the most famous sight in Zambia. The falls measure 1688 m. wide and about 100 m. high. An average of 550 million liters of water flow over the lip of the falls each minute, with annual peaks reaching about 750 million liters per minute.
