Kansas City Kansas is a city on the eastern border of Kansas located at Kaw Point, the confluence of the Missouri and Kansas Rivers. Home to about 150,000 people, it is the third largest city in the state of Kansas and an important component of the Kansas City Missouri metropolitan area.

Kansas City Kansas claims a long history for the area, with heritage harkening back all the way to the 1804 Lewis and Clark expedition campsite at Kaw Point. Settlement began in earnest during the 1850s, and by 1920 the city could boast a population of over 100,000 persons, making it one of the 100 largest cities in America. Today the city is part of the 2 million person Kansas City Metropolitan Area, ranked 43rd in size in the United States.
